A local woman is facing charges in connection with the theft of a credit card.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers conducted an investigation on February 20 at an Orchard Place residence in Chatham, after the victim learned that their credit card had been stolen.

Officers were able to identify a suspect using surveillance footage after the card was used to make a purchase at a St. Clair Street business. A warrant was then issued for the arrest of an 18-year-old Chatham-Kent woman.

On Thursday, shortly after midnight, officers responded to a Chatham home for an intimate partner violence complaint and located the accused.

The woman was arrested on the outstanding warrant and charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, theft of a credit card, and adult use of a credit card. She was later released with conditions and a future court date.
