Charges have been laid after a woman was assaulted during a break-and-enter in Wallaceburg.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Hilda Avenue home on Monday at around 12:30 p.m. after receiving a report about a break-and-enter in progress.
Authorities arrived to find that a woman had forcibly entered the home through a basement window and, once inside, physically assaulted a 22-year-old woman. The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.
A 36-year-old Windsor woman was arrested at the scene.
The accused is now charged with break-and-enter to commit an indictable offence and assault. She was later released with conditions and a future court date.
