A local man has been arrested after a woman was assaulted in Wallaceburg.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to an address in Wallaceburg on Tuesday shortly before 8 p.m. regarding a domestic disturbance.
According to investigators, a 44-year-old woman had been assaulted during an altercation with a 41-year-old Chatham-Kent man. She was assessed by paramedics at the scene but declined further medical attention.
As a result, the Chatham-Kent man has been charged with one count of assault. He has since been released from custody with conditions and a July court date.
