
A Chatham woman is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a man after breaking into his home as he slept.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a residence in Chatham at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday regarding an ongoing domestic dispute.
Police learned that a woman had unlawfully entered the home while the victim was sleeping and assaulted the man, who suffered minor injuries. The woman also caused damage to the residence.
A suspect was located nearby and was arrested.
A 57-year-old Chatham woman is now charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, break-and-enter, and mischief under $5,000.
She was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
