
A Chatham man is facing charges after an argument between a man and a woman turned violent.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a disagreement between a couple in Chatham escalated and became physical on Monday shortly before 9 p.m.
Police were called to the scene after the woman was injured during the assault. Authorities said she did not require medical attention.
Following an investigation, officers arrested a 32-year-old Chatham man. He is now charged with assault and two counts of assault by choking causing bodily harm.
The accused was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
