Drunk driving charges have been laid following a traffic stop in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service received a report of a potentially impaired driver in the area of Merritt Avenue just after midnight on Friday.
Officers located and stopped a suspect vehicle in the area. Believing the driver was under the influence of alcohol, police took her into custody.
The 32-year-old Chatham woman is now charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. The accused will answer the charge in court next month.
