Charges have been laid after a woman was confined and spat on during a dispute in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Chatham home on Sunday shortly after 1 a.m. regarding the dispute.
Authorities said a man had locked the door to the home before pinning a woman to the ground to prevent her from leaving. The man then spat on her several times.
A 21-year-old Chatham man was arrested at the scene and charged with forcible confinement and assault. He was later released from custody and will answer the charges in court next month.
