Woman Struck With Vase

A man has turned himself in to police after a woman was struck with a glass vase in Chatham.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a disturbance on William Street South at around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, after an argument turned violent between a man and a woman.

According to authorities, the man allegedly hit the woman with a glass vase, causing an injury.

The 32-year-old accused later turned himself in at police headquarters on Sunday morning and was charged with assault with a weapon. He was held for a bail hearing and then released with conditions and an August court date.
