The May Court Club of Chatham is announcing the winners of this year’s Women of Excellence awards.
Justine Kilby, Diane Flook, Janine Griffore, Meaghan Creed, and Mackenzie Regts are being honoured in various categories, including community and volunteerism, health, and business.
May Court Spokesperson Catharine Hogan says the awards ceremony is taking place at Maple City Golf and Country Club on May 24th.
“The awards dinner in May will also be over and above recognizing the women who have been selected, but will also be a fundraising activity for us,” Hogan explains. “All the money raised goes to support activities in Chatham-Kent.”
Arts and Culture nominee Shannon Prince says it’s humbling to be recognized.
“I’m very honoured to be standing next to all of these wonderful women,” Prince says. “Listening to some of these young women, I haven’t done anything compared to what they’re doing, but it’s nice to see what they are doing and are so passionate about.”
The Women of Excellence awards are handed out by the May Court Club every two years.
This year’s winners were announced during a ceremony in Chatham on Monday.
