The activist group Water Wells First is issuing a warning to local residents living in the North Kent Wind 1 project area.
Over the weekend, the final turbine was completed, which Water Wells spokesman Kevin Jakubec says could pose even more problems for those living on well water.
“We saw in Dover that the operations phase, more wells are lost because now you’ve got a steady supply of vibrations going into the sand layer,” Jakubec says. “A number of wells went down in Dover during the operations phase, we expect the same thing here.”
Officials with Pattern Energy say there is still more construction to be done before the turbines will be activated, but no exact timeline has been given at this point.
