Young Car Thief Nabbed

A 12-year-old boy has been charged with stealing a car.

Police say the boy took a set of car keys from his teacher’s purse and then hid alongside the school parking lot to see which car was her’s.

The teacher,  thinking she had left her keys in the school went back inside to retrieve them, and that is when the 12-year-old struck.

The Chatham boy didn’t get very far as school officials stopped him at the end of the street and police were called.

He’s being charged with theft of motor vehicle.
