A Chatham man has been arrested after a violent confrontation over the weekend.
According to Chatham-Kent Police, two young men were walking along the railroad tracks off Lacroix Street shortly after 4 Saturday afternoon when an unknown person approached them, pulled out a knife, and demanded “all of their stuff.”
Various items were handed over and the victims called police. Officers flooded the area and tracked the suspect through several back yards, ending in a fenced-in industrial area.
The 22-year-old was arrested and has since been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and weapons dangerous. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
