The local English Catholic school board is doing what it can to support students who need a little extra help.

Trustees with the St Clair Catholic District School Board have approved the 2018-19 budget, which includes $1.1 million earmarked for special education programs.

“Our Board recognizes the increasing demands of direct supports to students with special needs,” says Director of Education, Deb Crawford.  “The Special Education team has taken a thoughtful approach to the use of funding from the Ministry of Education for the 2018-2019 school year, which includes the hiring of 10.3 full-time staff to serve our students.”

The budget, which comes with an operating surplus of $969,430, will now be forwarded to the Ministry of Education.
