school-apple-300x198As the public school board looks to the future of its Chatham elementary schools, it’s looking for feedback from parents.

A public meeting is being held tonight to discuss the accommodation review, recommending the closure of John N Given Public School with English language students consolidated at Tecumseh and all French Immersion courses moved to McNaughton Avenue.

Superintendent of Education Gary Girardi says the board is being very thorough as it reviews the options.

“In our process we host an orientation meeting, two working meetings, and two public meetings,” Girardi says. “After that a final report will be submitted by the board to trustees, then there will be another opportunity after that for people to delegate should they wish to comment still, then there will be a final vote.”

Tonight’s meeting is being held at Tecumseh Public School starting at 6 o’clock.

A tour for those who have pre-registered will take place at 5:30.
