Corey North Bio
COREY NORTH – EVENINGS & WEEKEND HOST
Corey North comes from the magical land of Thamesville, Ontario. He went to Canadore College for Radio and Broadcasting in a city true to his name (North Bay,ON). Looking to find that first step into radio, he began to volunteer his time for CKXS. Since August 2010, Corey has been seen driving the Summer/Winter Cruiser around Chatham-Kent and delivering the quirky news from around the globe in the evenings from 6pm-10pm. Corey’s talents include reciting movie quotes from memory, professional amateur busker and eating an entire bag of Fritos in one sitting (that last one won’t go on the internet, right?).
“I really enjoy being a part of the CKXS team. I’ve had a amazing time here and I’ve met so many great people. CKXS has allowed me to develop the skills I learned in College and to interact with our great community.”
Number of years with CKXS:
2 and counting
How did you get your start at 99.1?
I was a fresh college graduate and looking to enter into the strangeness we call radio. I volunteered at CKXS, looking to get experience working in a radio station. I worked for one day a week at first, then two and then every day of the week. It finally hit me when I was driving the XS Summer/Winter cruiser that CKXS is more of a home than a job.
First-ever CKXS production:
A single Wednesday night a week from 10pm-2am.
Most memorable CKXS moment:
The Kraft and TSN 10 vs. 10 Celebration! I was really shown what the XS community was all about!
Best thing about being a CKXS staff member:
Getting to know and interact with our community and its leaders!

Evenings with Corey from 6pm-10pm
Favourite TV shows:
The Walking Dead, Kenny vs Spenny, Arrested Development, The Big Bang Theory

If you could work on any radio show (past or present), what would it be and why?:
CBC Radio during the 1940/50s. I would have liked to work on the then budding world of Radio Dramas; the television of the airwaves!
If you could meet one person, who would it be?
Bill Murray (I hear he is a God among men)
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Ireland
