Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton speaks with constituents at Country Style in Wallaceburg, March 12, 2018 / Robyn Brady, CKXS News

It was standing room only at a meet-and-greet at Country Style in Wallaceburg this morning as Monte McNaughton spoke to local constituents.

The Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP met with area residents, and says new Conservative leader Doug Ford was a hot topic of conversation.

“Doug Ford has lots of support right across the province of Ontario. In our riding of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, he got 53% of the vote. I think it speaks to the appeal that Doug Ford has in rural Ontario. He’s already reached out to me to talk about bringing solutions to bring manufacturing jobs back to the province, which will be very helpful in communities like Wallaceburg,” McNaughton says.

McNaughton says he’s confident that Ford has what it takes to unite the party and win the June election.

“Doug is already talking about scrapping the Green Energy Act, stop building wind turbines across the province, and bringing some financial and fiscal responsibility. Under the Liberals, the debt has doubled, hydro bills have tripled. We need some fiscal responsibility and Doug Ford will bring that to people in Ontario,” says McNaughton.
