Organizers of September’s International Plowing Match be in Chatham tomorrow to give an update on the plans for next month’s big event.

An information session is being held at the Sons of Kent, starting at 6:00 PM.

Officials will also be releasing details about what’s said to be the single largest donation to date in support of the event.

Meantime, there is a delegation from the local IPM committee in Michigan today, trying to mend fences with our neighbours after recent talks about trade and tariffs.

Richard Vivian, with the Plowman’s Association, says they want to smooth the waters.

“We have a booth at the Farm Show there. We’re openly approaching people about the event and encouraging them to come north of the border,” says Vivian.

He says while he hasn’t heard of any concerted movement by US residents to stay home, why take the chance.
