Keep cool around Chatham-Kent today. 
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the area with daytime highs in the low 30s and the humidity making it feel like the 40s by afternoon.
Drink plenty of water before you feel thirsty, and stay in a cool place. Cooler weather is expected to move into the region by Monday.
Meantime, Chatham-Kent Police are reminding everyone about the dangers of hot cars. Constable Kelly Helbin says cars heat up quickly in the sun and leaving people and pets unattended can be deadly.
Extreme heat affects infants and small children more quickly and dramatically than adults because of their size,” Helbin says. “Just leaving them in for for not even a very long can time can be dangerous, and potentially fatal.”
Helbin says cars can quickly turn into ovens even on cooler days.
