Business is booming at Chatham-Kent’s newest coffee shop.

Councillor David VanDamme says he expects the Thamesville Tim Horton’s to be the go to place for local conversation.

“it’s going to be a great venue for farmers and people like me to sit down and talk to farmers and business-people,” VanDamme says, “Learn about their problems and see the community come together.”

The East Kent representative says he hopes to see some more economic growth as a result of the new restaurant, but time will tell.

“Economic development in its truest form should work that way, but it will be interesting to see what happens,” VanDamme says. “At first I would think most people will flock to Tim Horton’s to take it all in and it might have some small repercussions on the smaller coffee shops, but it’ll work itself out.”

A official grand opening will be held at the Thamesville Tim Horton’s on Wednesday, November 29th.
