A local men’s group is supporting mothers and families through a recent donation.

100 Men Who Care presented a cheque for $10,000 to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation on Friday.

The funds will go towards the purchase of two neonatal chairs for the Women and Children’s Program at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. The chairs allow mothers to hold their little ones in the NICU and are specially designed to strengthen the bond between parents and their new babies, particularly through skin-to-skin contact.

The foundation was chosen by 100 Men Who Care as their charity of choice during their most recent meeting, with each member donating $100 to the cause.

The group will hold their next meeting on April 25.
