A newly formed women’s group is looking to help local charities. 100 women hwo care logo

Rachel Raspberg is one of the co-founders of the Chatham-Kent chapter of 100 Women Who Care.

Raspberg says the idea is to get at least 100 members who will donate 100 dollars to each meeting’s charity of choice.

“If a woman decides to join the group, they are eligible to nominate a local charity or non profit,” Raspberg says. “At the meetings, three of those nominations are drawn from a hat. They will each make a presentation about the reason why they nominated those charities. At the end, the group will vote for who they feel deserves the donation, which would hopefully be $10,000.”

The group plans to meet four times a year. The inaugural meeting will be held next Wednesday, August 24th at the Retro Suites.
