$100K in Cocaine Seized

A London man is facing a laundry list of charges after being caught transporting drugs on the 401. 

The accused was pulled over by Chatham-Kent OPP earlier this week after being clocked going over 150 kilometres an hour on the 401 near Scane Road.

While searching the vehicle, the officer found suspected counterfeit currency, $12,000 worth of cannabis marijuana, and over $100,000 of cocaine, along with a handgun and ammunition.

Over a dozen charges have been laid, including various drug possession, trafficking, weapons offences, and stunt racing offences.

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act, and
  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Cannabis Marihuana – over 3 kilograms contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act, and
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm/ammunition, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and
  • Possessing counterfeit money, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and
  • Race motor vehicle – excessive speed, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and
  • Drive motor vehicle no permit, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and
  • Fail to surrender insurance card, Contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, and
  • Possess more than one licence, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
