
Tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of drugs have been seized on Walpole Island First Nation.
Provincial Police say OPP, including the canine unit and Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad, along with Walpole Island Police officers arrested an individual wanted on outstanding warrants on March 5th.
Following further investigation, a search warrant was executed at Blackbird Lane property. Officers seized $31,800 worth of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, firearms, and other offence-related items.
A 58-year-old Walpole Island resident is now facing over half a dozen charges under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, including weapons offences and several counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused was remanded into custody following a bail hearing and will be back in court in Sarnia this week.
