12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety Topper - 2 (2015)

99.1 and Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services have officially launched Fire Safety Canada and Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council’s 12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety campaign.

The contest which runs from December 8th to the 23rd is sponsored by Kidde Canada and Candle Impressions. The prize pack includes a valuable “worry-free” smoke alarm with a 10-year battery, flameless candles and other exciting prizes to make your home safe.

“When you hear the tip, write it down and during our Weekdaze show– afternoons from 2PM-6PM we will be asking you to call in and repeat the tip to win,” says General Manager of CKXS 99.1, Greg Hetherington.

“The number of fires, injuries and fire fatalities often increases during the holiday season. To help keep your family safe, we’re featuring 12 fire safety tips, one for each of the next 12 business days leading up to Christmas,” says Public Educator, Whitney Burk.

The 12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety campaign focuses on fire prevention, preparing and practicing a home fire escape plan, and checking the batteries in or replacing smoke alarms and CO alarms.
