If you’re looking for something fun to do with the kids this fall, two of Chatham-Kent’s Storybook Trails have been given a refresh.
In partnership with the Chatham-Kent Public Library, the new and improved Storybook Trail in Dresden’s Rotary Park was unveiled Wednesday morning, featuring picture books pages mounted on trail markers. The path begins in Rotary Park, and winds its way along the south side of the Sydenham River.
Meantime, the Storybook Trail in Chatham’s Kingston Park is also unveiling an updated look with 18 trail markers, each one containing pages of a children’s book along the circular trail. A ribbon-cutting event is scheduled for October 1st.
Library officials say the Storybook Trails support early literacy, family engagement, and physical activity by encouraging families to enjoy shared learning outdoors in local parks and along community trails.
