14 New Cases, New Workplace Outbreak In C-K

CK Public Health is confirming 14 new cases of COVID-19 and a new workplace outbreak in Chatham-Kent on Tuesday.
With three new recoveries listed, the active case count jumps from 12 on Monday to 23.
According to the health unit’s website, 10 new active cases are linked to the workplace outbreak at an un-named location. Nine active cases are linked to close contact transmissions, one is travel-related, one is linked to the community setting outbreak at a Blenheim place of worship and two are pending.
The municipality has had 440 total cases, with 414 cases resolved and three deaths.
For the third time in four days, Ontario has reported a new single-day record high with 1,388 new cases province-wide. Toronto is linked to their own record high 520 new cases, with 395 in Peel, 100 in York, 72 in Halton and 50 in Niagara.
The provincial seven-day average is now up to 1,154. Health officials say it’s the highest seven-day average since the outbreak began in Ontario.
Locally, the Lambton health unit reported “minus-one” new cases today due to a false positive. Middlesex-London added 11 new cases with 123 active cases. Windsor-Essex has 6 new infections with 99 active.
Walpole Island confirmed one new case on Monday with two active cases as of Monday afternoon.
