Three Chatham men are facing drug and weapon charges following a traffic stop.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Gray Street in Chatham on Monday and detected a strong smell of marijuana. Officers also saw a “Glock-style” handgun in the vehicle.
When officers attempted to arrest the three occupants in the vehicle, one of them attempted to flee. However, after a brief foot chase, the man was taken into custody.
As a result, three 18-year-olds from Chatham are facing charges for firearms offences and possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking.
All three have been released from custody with a future court date.
