No more pencils, no more books!
Today is the last day of school for the year– a bitter sweet day for many.
That especially holds true for teachers and principals heading into retirement.
Brenda Mann is retiring from Riverview Central Public School in Port Lambton after 34 years in the education system and says she has lots of great memories over the years.
“Seeing our grade eight students graduating, and the growth they’ve gone through from the time they were younger through to grade eight, you can see a lot of change,” Mann says. “And also, seeing the J-K students start.”
Mann will be replaced by Lillian Rota, who most recently served as vice principal at Harwich Raleigh Public School in Blenheim.
A number of Wallaceburg-area principals and teachers are calling it a career – Rob Lee and Rick Leliberte are retiring from Wallaceburg District Secondary School. It’s the final day for Allan Young and Pat Foulon from H.W. Burgess, and Frank Teahan retired from A.A. Wright earlier this spring.
