24-Hour Warming Centre To Be Available In Chatham

Hope Haven Men’s Shelter on Wellington Street West in Chatham.

A shelter in Chatham is making sure emergency housing is available at all hours of the day during the coldest months of the year.

The Hope Haven shelter, located at 183 Wellington St. W, has announced that it will offer its services as a warming center in Chatham for another winter.

In the event that Chatham-Kent’s Chief Medical Officer of Health declares an extreme cold weather event, Hope Haven will be extending the hours at its facility to 24 hours per day.

The municipality said transportation can also be arranged to Hope Have for those who are outside of the downtown core.

Also, those who need to escape the elements during the winter months can also attend the following locations during regular business hours;

  • Hope Haven at 183 Wellington St. W in Chatham
  • Salvation Army at 19 Raleigh St. in Chatham and 600 Lowe Ave. in Wallaceburg
  • Employment & Social Services at 435 Grand Ave. W in Chatham
  • Ashley’s Place at 75 Queen St. N in Tilbury
