253 New Jobs Coming To Chatham With Sale Of Public Works Garage

Some good news on the job front in CK.
The municipality has given the green light to sell the Park Avenue public works garage to Onbelay Automotive for $750,000, which will result in an estimated 253 new jobs coming to Chatham.
Onbelay Automotive Inc. is located next door to the 25,000 square foot public works garage.
MSSC, formerly known as Meritor, is a group company of Mitsubishi Steel Manufacturing and is looking to transfer stabilizer bar production from their Kentucky facility to Chatham-Kent in November of this year. MSSC product is shipped to Onbelay Automotive Inc. for powder coating, assembly and shipment to original equipment manufacturers.
Chatham-Kent will now build a new public works garage at the Park Avenue Business Centre, where the municipality will invest $2.75 million to design and build the garage.
