Chatham-Kent fire fighters are working to ensure the safety of some of the more vulnerable members of the community.
Community Safety Officer Whitney Burk says a new partnership between police, fire, and Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario is to be able to reach out to as many local residents as possible.
“We are working together to work together and increase the public safety and protection of those who are affected by epilepsy and seizure disorders and their families,” says Burke. “We are aligning ourselves with community partners who are able to assist us in getting in touch with those who are most vulnerable in our community.”
As part of a CHiRP home check, fire fighters will ensure all smoke detectors are working and that residents have an emergency escape plan in place.
