$3.7 Million in Federal Funding for Truly Green Farms and Greenfield Global Partnership

20170911_113406The Federal Government is investing $3.7 million dollars into a new partnership between two Chatham operations.

Peter Fragiskatos, MP of London North Centre, made the announcement today that the funding will go Truly Green Farms and Greenfield Global.

The investment will go into new technology that will pipe waste heat and carbon dioxide from Greenfield to Truly Green Farms across the road – this will reduce green house energy costs and will boost tomato yields.

Fragiskatos says this is a unique partnership.

“It’s this kind of unique partnership that we’re acknowledging today. We rarely see collaborations like this. When you can pair concerns about environmental sustainability with agriculture and innovation, you’ve got a recipe for success. I really applaud both companies for what they’re doing with this partnership”, says Fragiskatos.

Truly Green Farms expects the new technology to be in place by December 1st of this year.
