A movement to get concrete barriers installed on the 401 from Tilbury to London is gaining momentum.
More than 100 Chatham-Kent residents attended a town hall-style meeting last night in Chatham hosted by MPP Rick Nicholls and the Build the Barrier group.
Group member Alysson Storey says this issue affects everyone.
“We are joined by MPPs from across Ontario from all political parties, we have received incredible support and encouragement from Windsor to Cornwall and almost everywhere in between,” Storey says. “This is clearly not an issue that resonates just in Chatham-Kent, but with all Ontarians.”
Storey says the group will continue to pressure Premier Wynne and the Ministry of Transportation to install these barriers, rather than the proposed high-tension cable barriers.
