The roar of motorcycles will fill downtown Chatham today.
The 3rd annual Bikefest takes place today in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Executive Director Nan Stuckey says it all kicks off with a cruise.
“It’s a police-escorted ride that goes through Chatham-Kent and then it ends at Tecumseh Park where we have lots of vendors, a showcase of motorcycles, and entertainment all day long from 11Am – 11PM.”
Stuckey also says that it’s not just geared towards people who ride:
“We have a really wide range of vendors – some to attract motorcyclists, but others to attract the rest of us who don’t really know much about motorcycles. What’s pretty impressive is watching the ride come in as well, which happens between 11:00 – 11:30. Last year we had more than 175 bikes, and this year we’re hoping to top 200.”
Over 5000 people came out to the event last summer.
