Traffic is moving along the 401 this morning following a pair of multi-vehicle crashes through Chatham-Kent on Sunday
Emergency crews were called around 5:40pm when a westbound transport collided with a pick-up truck, causing a five-vehicle chain reaction crash.
Two people were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The highway was closed between Kent Bridge and Queens Line for almost nine hours as a result, but has since reopened.
Meantime, the investigation continues into an earlier multi-vehicle collision, this time in the eastbound lanes near Tilbury.
The stretch of highway was shut down between Mill Street and Kent Bridge, reopening last night.
