Safety on the 401 is being brought to the forefront, with Chatham-Kent Council voicing its support for the installation of median barriers along the busy highway.
A petition has been making the rounds, calling on the province to take action in the wake of a tragic crash late last month that claimed the life of a mother and daughter when a pickup truck crossed the median and struck their van.
Mayor Randy Hope will be writing to the Premier and Transportation Minister, and petitions will now be available at all municipal service centres in Chatham-Kent.
