Animal control services have changed across the municipality.

Effective at the start of this week, all animal control in Chatham-Kent is the purview of PAW, including wards one (West Kent: Tilbury East, Tilbury, Romney and Wheatley) and three (East Kent: Bothwell, Zone, Camden, Thamesville, Orford, Highgate, Duart, Howard, Ridgetown.)

The group has provided animal control and pound services for wards two and six since November 2016, adding Wallaceburg and North Kent in December 2017.

Both the Wallaceburg and Chatham shelters will be operational, but cats can only be dropped off in Chatham.

PAW Rescue won’t come to pick up stray cats.
