
Local residents will be lacing up their running shoes this weekend in support of athletes with special needs.
Formerly known as the Torch Run for Special Olympics, the fourth annual Mike Currie Memorial is being held this Saturday along the Mud Creek Path in Chatham. Registration begins at 8am with the run getting underway at 9.
Participants have several options, including a 5 or 10 kilometre walk or run along with a 1km kids’ fun run. There will also be a 30 or 60 minute timed bike ride through the surrounding area.
All proceeds support Special Olympics Ontario.
The deadline for registration is 12pm on Friday, September 4.
