Chatham-Kent has five new cases of the coronavirus today, according to CK Public Health.
The local health unit is also reporting a new outbreak in a “congregate setting”. Public Health is not currently naming the location. A congregate setting is a location where people live in a group together.
Three Chatham-Kent residents remain in hospital with the virus. There are now 32 active cases of COVID-19 in the municipality, with 406 total cases, 371 recoveries and three deaths.
Of the 32 active cases, 17 are linked to the outbreak at a Blenheim place of worship, 12 are listed as close contact transmissions, two are connected to the new outbreak in a congregate setting and one is pending.
There are currently three active outbreaks in Chatham-Kent; the new congregate setting outbreak, a place of worship outbreak and a workplace outbreak.
Public Health officials say the workplace outbreak previously affecting one positive case in C-K is no longer affecting any current active cases in Chatham-Kent. However, the outbreak has not yet been declared “over” as there are still some cases affected from outside of the municipality.
The province confirmed 834 new cases across Ontario on Wednesday. Lambton reported no new cases today, with two new infections in Middlesex-London and three new cases in Windsor-Essex.
