$62.5 Million In Funding To Support Fisheries

Prime Minister Trudeau has announced $62.5 million in funding to support Canada’s fisheries and fish and seafood processors.
The Prime Minister says the support aims to allow these essential services to continue their important work, supply and safety.
The federal government suggests the funds will also allow fish and seafood processing plants to purchase necessary additional refrigeration units, freezers and storage products as they adapt to the current landscape.
The funds are also allocated to help processors to buy personal protective equipment for employees while allowing room for new equipment and additional resources.
Canada’s lobster and snow crab season is currently delayed due to the crisis.
