CK Whips Through Second Shipment of COVID Vaccines

We’ll have to wait a few more days to find out how the second round of COVID vaccinations went in Chatham-Kent.

Public Health says once the second shipment of vaccine arrived last Friday, teams spread out out across the municipality giving the shots to long term care residents.

While not naming specific facilities they did visit Wallaceburg, Blenheim, Chatham, Ridgetown, and Tilbury.

There were enough doses sent to complete the first round for the top priority residents.

404 LTC residents were inoculated in the first round, and last week Public Health officials said there were roughly 600 more residents to go.

That does not include Fairfield Park. Vaccines at the Wallaceburg LTC are not permitted to be delivered due to provincial guidelines for homes in outbreak.

More information is expected to be released on Thursday.
