$66K Raised for Families Living with Dementia in CK

Tens of thousands of dollars has been raised to support Chatham-Kent residents living with dementia and their families.

The 2026 Walk Season for the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent included the annual Walk for Alzheimer’s, held May 30 at Kingston Park in Chatham, along with a 50/50 raffle and other fundraising events.

Preliminary figures show over $66,000 has been raised with sponsorship dollars still to come.

Tracy B. was named this year’s top individual fundraiser, Debby Shewburg earned the top team fundraiser title, and Meadow Parked was the top retirement/long term care home fundraiser.

All funds raised stay in Chatham-Kent and support more than 1000 clients and care partners with programs and services such as the day programs in Wallaceburg and Chatham, in-home respite care, First Link Care Navigation, and education programs.
