Plans are now in place for the 6th annual Hike for Hospice.
The fundraiser to support end of life care in Chatham-Kent will be a virtual event once again this year, with participants encouraged to walk the Mud Creek Trail during the week of April 25th to May 1st.
“With the success of last year’s virtual Hike we are sticking with this format so families can walk Mud Creek Trail anytime during the week,” event chair Giri Thommandram says. “We received such kind feedback about the addition of the memorial signs on the trail that we are offering this opportunity again this year. If you can’t make it out to Mud Creek, you can still participate remotely by completing your hike wherever you would like – on a different trail, in your neighbourhood, or even in your own house,”
Registration is free, but walkers will be able to collect pledges, purchase a commemorative t-shirt, and sponsor memorial signs to line the path.
All funds raised support the day-to-day operations of the 10-bed Chatham-Kent Hospice, which offers end of life care at no cost to families, but requires $110,000 in donations each month.
