It’s being hailed as one of the largest drug busts in Chatham-Kent history.

Over three days last week, officers discovered more than $7.3 million worth of mature marijuana plants at illegal grow-op on Maynard Line.

The greenhouse operation has now been dismantled and 7300 plants seized.

“This is a significant amount of drugs associated to an illegal drug operation,” says Chief Gary Conn. “It required the use of many resources including our front line officers and I am very pleased to see, once again, an investigation of this magnitude come to a successful conclusion, with the seizure of such an extraordinary amount of illicit drugs being removed from our streets.”

Authorities say due to the complexity of the operation, the investigation is on-going and charges pare pending.
