Thousands of dollars has been raised in support of hands-on learning opportunities for students at a local high school.
Ursuline College Chatham held its inaugural Gala of Hope on January 21, showcasing a three-course plated dinner crafted and served by local chefs and UCC hospitality students.
The sold-out event raised roughly $7000, which will help purchase new equipment for UCC’s hospitality classroom, helping students gain hands-on experience in a modern learning environment.
The gala also featured a silent auction, live music by the UCC staff band, and instrumental performances by staff and students.
Organizers say the success of the Gala of Hope sparked enthusiasm for future events and strengthened the foundation of UCC’s hospitality program.
