Another Chatham-Kent resident has died from COVID-19.
CKHA officials say one patient with COVID-19 died in hospital last night, however aside from the individual being unvaccinated, no other details have been released.
17 new COVID cases are being reported by Chatham-Kent Public Health today.
With 12 cases considered resolved, that brings the number of active cases to 112.
Of the positive cases identified since July 1st, 9.23% have been fully vaccinated; 19.8% are either partially vaccinated, not yet fully protected, or have an unknown vaccination status; 70.95% are amongst unvaccinated individuals.
No change in the four outbreaks in the community, including two at schools in Dresden, one connected to Praise Fellowship Church in Chatham, and an un-named workplace.
There are 13 COVID-positive patients being treated at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, 5 of whom are in the ICU and four on ventilators. Of the COVID patents, 12 are Chatham-Kent resident and are included in the daily report from Public Health, and one is from outside the municipality.
The hospital’s ICU is now sitting at 70% capacity, while medical, surgical, and critical care beds are 92% filled.
