Charges have been laid in connection to an ongoing drug investigation.

Chatham-Kent Police executed a search warrant in Chatham yesterday, uncovering roughly $73,500 worth of drugs, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, and oxycodone. Officers also seized a large amount of Canadian currency, an airsoft pistol, digital, scales, and other drug paraphernalia. 

A 44-year-old man was arrested and is facing a slew of charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, possession of the stolen property, two counts of possessing a restricted weapon contrary to a prohibition order, two counts of failing to comply with a release order and three counts of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused was taken to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
