Postma Heating and Cooling is helping Operation Cover up collect new and gently used coats while giving local residents the chance to win a new furnace!
Postma Heating and Cooling is calling on the community to assist in keeping everyone warm this winter. With these unprecedented times, there is a major need for winter coats for those less fortunate.
Already in the business of keeping warm, management at Postma says they want to do more. There is a greater demand than ever for winter coats for those less fortunate, and this is where the idea stemmed from.
For every winter coat that is dropped off to Postma Heating and Cooling, you will receive a ballot to enter our draw to win a free furnace, installed at no charge. Postma has kicked it off by purchasing the first 50 coats to donate. To help drive community participation, they are offering a free furnace, installed, to someone who steps up and donates a coat as well.
“We live in a fantastic community, with so many wonderful people,” says Caleb Postma, owner of Postma Heating & Cooling. “Our business is about keeping people warm and comfortable. We were going to make our donation and we thought, how can we do more? That’s when the idea came to us, why not up the ante and get everyone involved. A little incentive and the good people of Chatham-Kent will get out and support. Sometimes people just need a little reminder, and what better reminder than a big prize. We are going to donate all of the coats to Salvation Army Chatham to help boost Operation Coverup’s 2021 numbers. And, if you know someone else in need of a furnace, you can simply put their name on the ballot and pay it forward.”
Stephen Holland, the Community Services Officer of the Salvation Army Chatham-Kent Ministries says although we all feel the bitter cold of winter, most of us have warm clothing to combat the elements.
“Yet in Chatham Kent there are men women and children who go about their day without even a warm winter coat,” says Holland. “Last year we helped close to 800 people with winter coats, boots, hats, and gloves. And we expect more will need help this year. But this is only possible because of people in our community who give away good new or gently used winter coats. It’s because of donations from Companies like Postma Heating and Cooling and our community partners and individuals that we all can make a difference in people’s lives. After doesn’t everyone deserves to be warm.”
The fundraiser kicks off November 16th and runs until 3:00 pm on December 3rd. The draw will take place at the Postma office.
Donations can be dropped off at Postma Heating and Cooling. Charring Cross Rd by the 401 over pass. You will receive a ballot to fill out on the spot to fill out. Every coat gets you one ballot.
