This weekend marks the last run for Chatham-Kent’s beach bus this summer.
Saturday, August 3 is the final of three trial dates for the seasonal transit route running between Mitchell’s Bay and Erieau.
The bus will make stops in Grande Pointe, Pain Court, St Clair College Thames Campus, Charing Cross, and Blenheim.
Service is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; details for each stop are on the RideCK website.
The beach bus was paused during the pandemic and then cut from the municipal budget in 2022.
The cost of running the service over three dates this summer was estimated at $2,576. If a review shows the route is practical and cost-effective, it may return in 2025.
