YMCA Charity Run Expanding To CK, Sarnia-Lambton

An annual charity event that aims to help everyone access YMCA programming despite financial barriers is expanding.

The Jordan’s Run the Runway event, which initially began 11 years ago in London, will now also take place in Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton.

The events will take place in Chatham-Kent on September 13, on September 20 in London, and on October 4 in Sarnia-Lambton.

Each event is a flat and fast, certified 5K where participants are invited to run, walk, or roll on a runway. Each event also includes a 1K kiddie trot on the runway. All runs will take place in the evening.

Funds raised through each event will support the YMCA’s financial assistance program so everybody can access YMCA camps, programs, and services.

The charity run is held in honour of Jordan Strickland, who was an active member of the YMCA community as a camper and volunteer at YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth. Jordan tragically passed away in a car accident in 2014.

Registration is now open and participants are welcome to register for any or all of the events. To learn more, click here.
